Choosing a Torrey scale

Price computing or label printing?

A price computing scale multiplies weight by price per pound and shows the total for the customer. A label printing scale adds a thermal printer to produce price and weight labels for prepacked goods. Counters that wrap and label products choose a W-Label; quick-service counters and markets choose an LPC-40L or PC-40L.

Capacity

Most food counters use 40 lb x 0.01 lb. Choose the PC-80L at 80 lb x 0.02 lb for bulk produce, and EQB bench scales for receiving and back-of-house weighing up to 200 lb.

Washdown

For meat, seafood and wet prep areas, choose a stainless EQB-W washdown scale. Compare more washdown scales from other brands.

Legal for trade

Torrey price computing and label printing scales are NTEP approved for selling by weight. See all price computing scales, label printing scales and NTEP legal-for-trade scales.

Torrey calibration and placing in service

Add calibration to any Torrey scale and we calibrate it in our Cypress, TX shop before it ships, usually within 1–3 business days. Pricing follows the scale’s maximum capacity:

A scale whose capacity is exactly at a tier limit uses the lower tier.

A 40 lb Torrey scale falls in the 6.2–35 kg tier; the PC-80L and EQB 100 lb and 200 lb models fall in the 35–150 kg tier. MNM Scales is TDA licensed, with TDA-Registered Technicians for all scale classes, and our technicians handle the RWM-780 and RWM-700 paperwork when your Texas scale is placed into service. See legal-for-trade calibration in Texas and TDA scale certification. On-site service in Houston and the surrounding suburbs is $295 plus $2 per mile round trip, charged once per visit, with calibration priced per scale.
