How to choose an Optima indicator or part

• Match the connector. OP-902 indicators come with a 5-prong or 4-prong connection. Check the plug on your scale cable before ordering, or order a version that includes a running cable.
• Match the job. The OP-902 is a replacement display for platform, floor, bench and livestock scales. The stainless OP-900A and OP-900B indicators add IP65 housings and NTEP approval for trade use.
• Data output. The OP-902 has RS-232C output for a printer or computer.
• Cables and power. Replacement 15 ft cables, OP-410 homerun cables, AC adapters and rechargeable batteries keep an existing Optima system running.

Choosing the right Optima indicator

Replacing a display on a platform or floor scale

The OP-902 connects to the load cell cable through its connector, so an older platform keeps working with a new readout. Match 4-prong or 5-prong to your cable.

Washdown and food areas

The stainless OP-900A and OP-900B indicators have IP65 housings for wet production areas and are NTEP approved for trade use.

The OP-902 is a common display for livestock platforms, and a spare cable or battery keeps a field scale working.

Indicator calibration and installation

A new indicator is calibrated together with the scale it reads. System calibration is priced by the scale’s maximum capacity:

A scale whose capacity is exactly at a tier limit uses the lower tier.

Bench scales from 6.2 to 35 kg fall in the first tier shown, platforms from 35 to 150 kg in the next, and floor, livestock and crane scales over 150 kg in the top tier. Calibration usually takes 1–3 business days after we receive the scale, and our mail-in scale calibration service covers scales bought anywhere. MNM Scales is TDA licensed with registered technicians for all scale classes, and we handle the RWM-780 and RWM-700 paperwork for trade scales in Texas.

Our technicians install indicators, calibrate and repair scales on-site across the Houston area and surrounding suburbs, with Dallas, Austin and San Antonio on request. Does the OP-902 indicator have a data output?

Yes. It has RS-232C output for a printer or computer.

Should I order the 4-prong or 5-prong OP-902?

Match the plug on your scale cable. If you are rewiring, the versions with a running cable or a 15 ft replacement cable make the swap simpler.

Are Optima indicators legal for trade?

The OP-900A and OP-900B indicators sold here are NTEP approved. Trade use also needs an NTEP scale base, and in Texas the scale is registered with TDA. We handle the RWM-780 and RWM-700 paperwork.

Do you sell replacement batteries and adapters?

Yes. We stock rechargeable batteries for the OP-901A and OP-901B and a 6V AC adapter for the OP-902.

Can you install and calibrate a new indicator on my scale?

Yes, on-site in the Houston area, or in our shop by mail-in.

How fast is calibration?

Usually 1–3 business days after we receive the scale.
