Buying Scales in Bulk: A Guide for Multi-Site and B2B Buyers
Short answer: To buy scales in bulk, send us the models, quantities and delivery locations and we will send a wholesale quote (see our wholesale scales page). MNM Scales is one of the largest scale distributors, with the largest selection of scales, balances and parts across the brands we carry as an authorized dealer. We can calibrate every unit before it ships, with a certificate per scale, and we provide calibration and repair services for other scale companies too. Shipping is free in the continental U.S.
Buying one scale is easy. Buying forty for a chain of stores, a school district or a production floor raises different questions: which model to standardize on, how to get every unit certified, and who keeps them in calibration next year. MNM Scales has supplied scales for over 30 years, to businesses from single shops to multi-site operations, labs, manufacturers, and military, defense and aerospace contractors. Here is how to buy scales in bulk with us.
Who buys scales in bulk
- Retail and grocery chains: NTEP price computing and label printing scales for every store (see our deli scale guide).
- Shipping and fulfillment: matching bench scales at every pack station (see our shipping scale guide).
- Dispensaries and labs: NTEP balances for each counter and precision balances for QC (see our dispensary scale guide).
- Schools and universities: classroom sets of portable balances.
- Manufacturers: bench, floor and counting scales across lines and plants.
- Scale companies and service providers: parts, indicators and load cells for resale or installs, and subcontracted calibration and repair.
How to buy scales in bulk: quotes and pricing
Bulk and wholesale pricing is by quote (see our wholesale scales page). Send us the models (or the job, if you have not picked a model yet), the quantity, delivery addresses and any certification you need, and we will price the whole order. Quotes can mix brands and include calibration, accessories and spare parts. To get a quote fast, include:
- The model numbers or the capacity and readability you need.
- Quantities per model and per delivery location.
- Whether the scales are used for trade (NTEP required).
- Calibration needed: in-house certificate or NIST-traceable certificate per unit.
- Delivery timing, and any accessories such as printers, cables or batteries.

Standardize on one model
For multi-site buyers, one model everywhere means one set of training, one set of spare parts and identical results. Popular choices for standardizing are the OHAUS Ranger 3000 R31P15 for benches and shipping (see OHAUS Valor vs Ranger vs Scout) and the A&D FX-120i for labs and reloading benches. If any site sells by weight, choose an NTEP approved model for every site (see what NTEP means).
Multipacks and cases
Some items are already listed in packs, and we can quote larger quantities of any listing:
- Doran PC400-20 bench scales, pack of 2: 20 lb x 0.01 lb stainless NTEP bench scales.
- Brecknell PS500 floor scales, pack of 2: 500 lb lightweight 22 x 36 in floor scales.
- A&D HJ-150 pocket scales, pack of 2.
- Label rolls by the case for label printing scales: cases and multipacks and all scale labels.
Parts for scale companies and installers
We supply scale companies with parts as well as complete scales. Common repeat orders include the MNM Scales LP7515 indicator, MNM Scales MS-1-3K 3,000 lb S-type load cells and the A&D FXi-02 USB interface for FX-i balances. We can also provide calibration and repair services for other scale companies, on the bench or on-site.
Ordering and payment
We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal (including its Buy Now, Pay Later option) and direct bank transfers. Large orders can ship to one address or be split across locations; list the delivery addresses in your quote request. Add accessories, spare parts, batteries and label rolls to the same quote so each site receives a complete setup, and ask about rentals if you need extra scales while the order is on its way.
Calibration for every unit
Every scale in a bulk order can be calibrated before it ships, with a certificate per serial number: in-house calibration, or NIST calibration with a NIST-traceable certificate (see NIST vs in-house). In Texas, commercial scales used for trade are placed in service by a registered technician; MNM Scales is TDA licensed with registered technicians who handle the RWM-780 and RWM-700 paperwork (see RWM-780 and TDA scale certification). Mail-in TDA/NIST calibration usually takes 1 to 3 business days, and it covers scales bought elsewhere too.
For fleets in Houston and the suburbs, on-site calibration is $295 plus $2 per mile round trip, charged once per visit no matter how many scales we calibrate, plus calibration per scale; Dallas, Austin and San Antonio are available on request. Ask us to set a recurring schedule (see how often to calibrate and calibration pricing). Rentals are also available for short projects and seasonal peaks.
Per-scale calibration, by maximum capacity:
| Maximum capacity | In-house calibration with certificate | NIST calibration with NIST-traceable certificate |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 2.2 kg (about 5 lb) | $95 (add to cart) | $395 (add to cart) |
| Over 2.2 to 6.2 kg | $195 (add to cart) | $495 (add to cart) |
| Over 6.2 to 35 kg (about 14 to 77 lb) | $250 (add to cart) | $595 (add to cart) |
| Over 35 to 150 kg (about 77 to 330 lb) | $350 (add to cart) | $750 (add to cart) |
| Over 150 kg (floor and large platform scales) | $495 (add to cart) | $995 (add to cart) |
