Moving from a PS60 to a BC-60

1. Check how your software talks to the scale. Most shipping software lists supported scales by model; pick the BC series entry if it has one.
2. Match the connection. If the PS60 was on RS-232, the BC-60 can use RS-232 too. On USB, set the BC-60’s USB mode to match what your software expects: POS HID, virtual serial (a COM port) or keyboard.
3. Use the cables in the box. The BC-60 comes with 10 ft USB and RS-232 cables, so most desks need no extra cable.
4. Weigh a known package or test weight to confirm the software shows the same weight as the scale display.

Calibration for 150 lb shipping scales

A 150 lb shipping scale (68 kg) falls in our over 35 to 150 kg calibration tier. Choose in-house calibration with a certificate or NIST calibration with a NIST-traceable certificate. Mail-in calibration also covers scales bought elsewhere and is usually done within 1–3 business days after we receive the scale (see mail-in scale calibration). In the Houston area we also calibrate on-site for $295 plus $2 per mile, round trip, charged once per visit, with calibration priced per scale, so several shipping stations can be done in one visit (see scale calibration in Houston).
