A&D EJ-54D2 dual-range balance for fine weighing

The A&D EJ-54D2 dual-range balance provides two selectable weighing ranges in one compact instrument: 22 g capacity with 0.0002 g readability, or 52 g capacity with 0.001 g readability. Each range operates from zero. Depending on the range setting, the balance can change ranges automatically or let the operator select the range manually.

Small-sample and jewelry weighing

A&D supplies the EJ-54D2 with a standard breeze break and a separate carat pan for jewelry weighing. The breeze break has an antistatic coating and helps reduce measurement errors caused by disturbing air movement. The standard round weighing pan is 50 mm in diameter. A backlit LCD, leveling feet and a spirit level support practical setup and daily operation.

Built-in functions include parts counting with Automatic Counting Accuracy Improvement (ACAI), percentage weighing, display hold and accumulation. Available units include grams, ounces, troy ounces, carats, momme, pennyweight and grains. The pound and specific-gravity units are not available on the EJ-54D2.

Standard package contents

A&D’s EJ manual lists the main unit, standard breeze break, carat pan, weighing pan, pan support, instruction manual and the correct local-voltage AC adapter. A calibration weight is not listed as standard equipment and must be obtained separately.

Optional USB, RS-232C and compliant data output

Communication interfaces are optional, not standard. The EJ-02 Quick USB interface sends numeric weight values one way to a computer. The EJ-03 RS-232C interface supports connection to a printer or computer and is used for GLP report output. A&D also identifies the EJ-27 wireless interface with the AD-8541-PC receiver as a compatible route for compliant output. Only one communication interface can occupy the balance’s option slot at a time.

Calibration and purchasing help

The balance uses external calibration, and A&D specifies a 50 g factory-set calibration value. The calibration mass is sold separately.
