Internal Calibration Still Needs a Certificate
Balances with internal calibration, like the A&D GX-400 and the Citizen CX220, adjust themselves against a built-in weight. An outside calibration with test weights confirms that the built-in weight and the whole weighing range are still correct, and gives you a certificate for your records. How much does analytical balance calibration cost?
Most analytical and semi-micro balances fall in our up-to-2.2 kg tier: $95 for in-house calibration with a certificate, or $395 for NIST calibration with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Do balances with internal calibration need outside calibration?
Yes, for documented accuracy. Internal calibration adjusts against a built-in weight, while an outside calibration with test weights verifies that weight and the full range and produces a certificate.
Can you calibrate balances at our lab or pharmacy?
Yes. On-site service covers labs, pharmacies and medical offices across Greater Houston for a $295 service call plus $2 per mile, round trip, charged once per visit, plus calibration per balance. Several balances on one visit share the same call.
How long does balance calibration take?
Usually 1–3 business days after we receive the balance. On-site calibration is done during the visit.
Do you repair balances too?
