Floor scale kits: build your own platform

A floor scale kit turns your own steel deck, pallet rack or animal pen into a working scale. Most kits include four load cells, mounting feet, a summing junction box, cable and a digital indicator. Some kits ship with the platform not included, as listed on each product page.

Installed and calibrated on-site in Houston

MNM Scales installs, levels, wires and calibrates floor scales at your site across Houston and the surrounding area, from Waller to north Houston, including Cypress, Katy and Tomball. Our TDA-Registered Technicians bring their own test weights, and for legal-for-trade scales they place the scale into service. Pre-sale calibration in our shop is also available, so the scale arrives ready to weigh.

On-site service is $295 plus $2 per mile round trip, charged once per visit, with calibration priced per scale on top. Floor scale repair: the problems we fix most

Calibration mode or settings changed by accident

A wrong button sequence on the indicator can open calibration or setup mode, or change units, capacity or graduation. The scale then reads wrong or shows a code. A technician resets the settings and recalibrates with test weights. Our guide to scale error codes explains the common displays.

Load cells worn out by heavy use

Overloads, dropped pallets and years of forklift traffic wear out load cells. Signs include drifting zero, readings that change with load position and a scale that will not hold calibration. We test each cell, replace the failed ones from stock and recalibrate the platform.

Cut or crushed cables

What size floor scale do I need?

Match the platform to your load footprint. A 4 x 4 ft, 5,000 lb floor scale fits standard pallets, 5 x 5 ft suits oversize pallets and bulk bags, and 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 ft decks suit drums and carts. Pick a capacity above your heaviest gross load.

Should I buy a complete floor scale or a floor scale kit?

A complete floor scale is ready to weigh out of the crate. A kit fits when you already have a platform or need an unusual size, pen or rack. Each kit listing shows what is included.

How much does on-site floor scale calibration cost?

The indicator was most likely put into calibration or setup mode, or a setting such as units or graduation was changed. A technician can reset the settings and recalibrate the scale with test weights.

Yes. We stock load cells, junction boxes and cables, replace failed parts in our shop or at your site and recalibrate the scale afterward.
